Learn the skills you’ll need day-to-day to work with the Go programming language. This all-day workshop will help developers get up to speed with Go from the ground up, covering language syntax through to concurrency. Along the way, you will learn best practices for project layout, testing, reusability, and dependency management. You will get practical, hands-on experience tailoring your development environment for Go development, building CLI tools to automate your mundane tasks, writing HTTP servers and microservices, packaging and shipping code with containers, and leveraging CI tools for automated tests and builds as part of your workflow. You will leave this workshop feeling confident taking your next steps with Go.
Location will be the same as CapitalGo, GMU's Founder Hall in Alexandria, VA, except that the workshop will be in a classroom.
Food all day will be provided.
